Kojo Essel, a Wellness Entrepreneur is the founder and CEO of Health Essentials Ltd. He is also a managing partner of St Andrews Clinic in Accra and a co-founder of Mobissel Ltd, an emergency and mobile health services provider.
Health Essentials opened its doors to the public as Moms’ Health Club in February 2005. This was a Specialty Club for pregnant and post-delivery women who did not have access to such a facility at the time.
Over the years the business has grown to over fifteen (15) onsite facilities for many multinational businesses in four regions in Ghana. In addition Health Essentials has virtual services and a vibrant social media presence for guiding people on their health and wellness journeys.
Under Kojo’s leadership business has impacted positively on many lives as it ensures that healthy and motivated employees help businesses to increase profits while reducing healthcare costs. Dr. Essel’s musings and public education have been republished online all over the world.

As a medical consultant in the Health Insurance industry, he was recognized in 2021 for his immense contributions and innovation.
Kojo’s vision of holistic health has led him to serve on a number of Boards notably The Bible Society of Ghana where he is actively involved in getting a Bible to everyone.
Dr. Essel is passionate about stocking our Blood Banks and organizes corporate bodies to donate blood annually. Together with his Health Essentials team, they partner MarchMarch annually in what is arguably the most publicized and effective blood donation drive in the country.
Kojo has raised health awareness in many areas and communities including being the lead consultant in the WaterAid/Mastercard Foundation Anti-Stigmatization Campaign (regarding COVID-19) that covered many deprived areas including Bimbila in Nanumba North District of Ghana.
Dr. Kojo Cobba Essel also holds an MBA specializing in Business Strategy, Pharmaceutical and Supply Chain Management. He is also certified in Exercise Therapy, Corrective Exercise and Fitness Nutrition by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).
